Pretty boy. I have the same idea in mind as far as the white back albinos. My boy's Dame was a black back as well, so he should pass it down.
Here he is:
...an albino x blackback.....but since there is no black on albinos....you would get an albino with no pattern on its dorsal area....
so being black backed is genetic. Correct??

Blackback isn't "proven" as of yet, but it is one of those dinker type projects that always seem to produce interesting things here and there.

I thought I read somewhere that they were a visible het for something. Not all black backs, but that the hets for a certain trait all had black backs, deeming them genetic.
Thanks for getting back to me elevatethis. It doesn't seem to me like it is a genetic thing, or atleast proven yet, especially because you can find random individuals with less vertebral marking than others, but all seem to have one or two blotches that covers part of the back.
