He's a normal. I'm not really sure how to explain the difference when looking at a pastel, but once you get some experience looking at LOTS of them, you can usually tell very easily...most especially when they are young.

The best "markers" that come to mind are that pastels have totally clear bellies...they have a significantly faded head that looks almost purplish when they're babies....they usually have a lot of blushing along their dorsal markings....and the bright yellow markings are an entirely different shade from the usual "gold" coloring of a normal.

He is absolutely gorgeous! I love the blushing. That's exactly what I want in a Pastel when buy mine(next year hopefully) Good choice! :D

lol, thanks for the updated pic ed, the white does look better, but i think a dark (black/blue) background would probably show the colors better????, but thank you ed and everyone else who has responded to it, i am totally excited about it. he is already named chance, and will be the first in a bunch of morph i will be getting here shortly.
