    You have to take the paper off and stick it to the bottom on the outside of the tank.The box should show you the proper way to install it.When you clean the tank you only need to clean the inside where the snake is.You will not get heat under the tank unless its installed correctly.Also use the little rubber legs like as you need air flow under the tank or it could crack the glass if your reostat fails.
