Where did you come about this info? This is a first for me "killer sperm" ?
Re: Multiple Sire Question
My degree is in wildlifebiology, emphasis in herpetology
Sperm competition is evident in many animals, especially birds, and the link between birds and reptiles is close. There is much on the subject, but as usual not as much evidence in reptiles, since they have not been studied as much. Some reptiles, including many type of snakes have shown a-sexual reproduction, where male is not even needed. (Parthenogenesis)
Wish my balls would save me the money of just having to buy the females!!
Google sperm competion in reptiles or snakes

How much direct experience do you have breeding ball pythons? Over the last 10 years of using multiple males per female I can say with great confidence that the last male to breed the girl is most often the one that sires the clutch.

Re: Multiple Sire Question
I am by no means and expert or even an experanced breeder. But I would think that the reason a snake would choose to retain is that 1. the condisions for egglaying weren't optimal for the female. 2. The female may not have had the energy, size or ability to produce eggs. 3. She was breed by a less than perfact male.
Just my :2cents:
Am I close in my guessing??

I do not have, my first attempt at b/p breeding, what happens in the classroom, or in the journals, is not always what is represented in actual breeding situations. I would say that your 10 years of breeding experience should be considered.

Re: Multiple Sire Question
Quick Question- Do the killer sperm use guns or knives? Do they set up camps? Man, if i were a sperm- taking one for the team wouldnt exactly be my mentality. I say this after having spent a few moments as half a sperm myself once. Yeah. I was hard core.
Been there, done that, next question.
Oh wait- has the MS13 formed its own sperm group yet? I hear they've spread out pretty far.
Seriously now- fighter sperm. Um, I don't see that at alllllllllllll. You'll have to find me examples of that- and if you do, i'm sure whatever it is that is the 'killa' wouldn't be a true sperm cell.
So ahhhhh. First come first serve doesn't work in the BP world. Haha. Your sperm plugs are USELESS !!!!111!
sorry, this is just like... top of my list of insane post topics. Meow Meow.
sorry if i offended anyone. cant stop the fingers.
