I second that. I get really tired after breeding...I hope that when I die my obituary reads "He copulated himself to death". Wait..That doesnt sound good.

It's my understanding that the female should be at least 1500g, regardless of age, and also it is necessary that she be ovulating. Females grow at different rates depending on their feeding schedules, going off-feed, etc.

Females should have adequate body weight for their size ... a 4ft 1500 gram 10 year old female is in no condition to be bred ... they should also probably be in their 3rd winter.
Ovulation occurs after courtship and copulation ... typically triggered by the "warm up" after temperature cycling is discontinued. Females won't breed at all while they are "ovulating".
