    all that means is his turbo is on the virge of death... either that or he couldnt afford a real turbo and got one of those whistler tips or whatever they're called....

    or his differential is going out! those whine real loud.

    Not necessarily... Some turbos are crazy loud and they are working fine. Have you ever heard a turboed Supra? Some of those guys running 45 psi on their cars are incredibly loud.

    the "whining" sound you heard could quite possibly be the blow off valve.

    Spent two years in japan, where just about everything is turbocharged...
