Hehe...I hope it works out for ya! What I would do in your shoes would be to set it all up as if the snake were actually in it....and see if you can maintain everything just so for about a week. If you can....then great! Then try it with the snake....if after 2-3 weeks the snake is still refusing to eat, you will have to seriously consider that it is not liking that big of an enclosure, and have an alternate ready to go.

Yeah ur right on that one and u read my mind on the week of having it setup...if it doesnt work i will just have to go to the tub setup...plain and simple...so would it be right to assume that i would need a higher watt bulb to maintain the temps i need?

Oh, i almost forgot i went in last week to see if the pet store had sold the cutie i was lookin at (was that too girly...oops...i hope not) and ask for a feeding demonstration since i knew it was feeding day and they did...i waited to see if he took it and there were no problems...the woman i was dealing with knew about snakes she told me she had inspected them for all the things i was gonna ask about so im looking foward to getting the little fella...

Probably so. I've got my bearded dragon in a 55gal tank....and I've got two super-hot spots to keep his basking spot toasty enough. Of course, that's a lot hotter than a BP wants it.

You might want to consider using flexwatt for the entire bottom...get two pieces of it. One for each half of the tank...controlled by separate thermostats (or, one t-stat for the warm side and a dimmer switch for the cool). ...and then a bulb or two on the top that will keep the overall ambient temps up. If you contact Matt at MGReptiles, he can help you figure out the best way to heat it, and he can set you up with as much flexwatt and other supplies as you need.

Sounds like you're getting it from a decent store. A rare thing! ;) And don't worry about sounding "girly"...hehehe....I've seen the most macho of guys go all weepy over ball pythons and other snakes and critters around here. :P
