Housing for an adult BP

Go with the AP if you can afford it. Several people on this site have them, myself included and there are very few issues if any with the cages. Do a search for Animal Plastics and you should see quite a few threads here with suggestions and ideas. I also asked some of the same questions you had and everyone was awesome. I got the sliding glass doors on mine, the belly heat, and the fluorescent light (among other things). Also suggest going with the black cage over the white, I think it gives Austin a better safer feeling environment because it is so dark. very intersting. I read that the heating that you purchase with the AP tanks are not very good. is there another way to heat them ?

you can buy these cages at a place in Boca Raton Florida called Under Ground Reptiles....an awesome place I might add.

If you were to get a glass aquarium something along the lines of a 20gal long up to a 40gal breeder would be ideal i have mine in a 40 breeder and it is plenty of floor space.

You said it was getting to its' full size. How big is this and how do you know he is getting to his full size? Though slowly growing, he may get another foot or so longer.

Sure, you can order your AP cages without heat, and purchase FlexWatt seperately... Or alternatively, I've heard that AP now has a FlexWatt option.

If you don't want to spend a bunch but want something that looks decent consider a single tub rack setup. Get a couple peices of melamine, and just create a single level of a rack. It would look a lot better than just a tub or aquarium.

really good idea. mm- i just moved Aza, my ball, from a 40 br. glass aquarium which she was doing well in, regularly eating and looking good, but it was a pain to keep the temps and humidity right. i had to resort to putting aluminum foil layers on the screen top to keep in the temps and moisture. i wouldn't recommend it at all. i just changed to a tub and it's been working great. i'm honestly going to take greenmonkey's advice and use that melamine to build a rack in a large closet i'm converting to a snake rack room type set up. tubs don't even look as tacky as you would think, i love it, mine is semi-see thru, kind of a frosted look because it is plastic so i can see her when she comes out at night but it still adds to security and it's cheap and easy. the main thing for looks is that your bp looks good and healthy. also you can substitute wanting to look in through a glass aquarium with lifting the tub lid and taking crisp pics and looking at those if you want to show your bp off lol. highly recommend tubs. t3 would be nice though but it's all the same, except those darn glass aquariums.

Were getting our T3 very soon, we called them today. She said hey dont offer the glass in a swinging door. Only the acrylic, and that usually it scratches because of lizards or rough bedding. We have a BP and use the bed a beast. And she also said if it does scartch its cheap to replace.

I dont know :( I wanted glass and swinging darn it!

And the heating they offer is an S shaped coil that runs on one side of the tank...werd.
