Re: infuriated by kids
I don't see anything in the OP that states one kid was the problem; the title just says that you're infuriated by kids. This statement could very well have ticked off a younger member or someone who felt defensive about the statement; sometimes those negative feedbacks seem like peoples' knee-jerk response; I got one not too long ago that had flabbergasted.
People shouldn't be doing this irrespnsible breeding; (not only with animals, heh, but amongs themselves.) I completely agree with you on that. Perhaps the field of dog breeding needs names suchas those used by horses (registered names) that become famous (or infamous) for their reputation to carry certain traits. Take the Impressive line of Paint horses; to put it simply, this line is infamous for exhibiting a form of muscle illness where the muscles twitch, coordination is lost, and things cannot get better. But then again, sometimes hroses of this lineage do not show these symptoms and have other desirable traits, so people will continue to breed using these lines.
Seems similar with dogs; as in anything, I really believe it should be Buyer Bweare; buyers need to research everything, and if something does go wrong, the breeder should definately be responsible; heck, I admit when I bought my mare (who has paint lines) I didn't know enough to look into her bloodlines; if she does develop the illness I guess it's my fault for not knowing.. what a screwed up world we live in. :(

Re: infuriated by kids
I, too, agree that irresponsible people shouldn't be breeding ANYTHING. Unfortunately, there are a lot of irresponsible kids out there that give the responsible ones a bad name (hey, it happens with adults, too, but let's face it---the younger you are, the less responsibility people will expect from you).
I think the bad rep was too quick a reaction (and just for the record, it wasn't me!!!!). I also think, however, that the title to the thread was too generalized and may have caused a bit of angst among the younger crowd here.
In any case, I wouldn't let it get to you. I know where you were coming from... and I still love you!:grouphug:

Re: infuriated by kids
I totally agree with you shhhli .
Its not just the akc its also the uk kc aswell ...look what has happened to the british bulldog, these days it is totally different in appearance to the original standard as is with most breeds..(but still gorgeus , im a sucker for the bull breeds i have a boxer myself :) ).. bulldogs also have breathing difficulties all becuse these dogs and other dogs aswell are being overbred and inbred which has shortened there lifespan tremendously :(
please excuse my grammer ive had a few beers tonight lol:D
