Re: Securing a tub..
I've got a 20L gal for my normal BP right now. It's only about a foot and a half long right now, so he'll eventually grow into it. It's not too hard to keep the temp around low 90's on warm side and mid 80's on cool side. But living in Nor Cal and temps still reaching mid to high 90's, we tend to keep the AC on most of the day. Which makes the humidity go down in his tank (high 40's) but a light misting of the tank always seems to do the trick. Does the same thing happen with a Tub?

That's the plan jglass38...that's the plan. I do tend to go overboard sometimes. Better safe than sorry. This boy isn't going anywhere!

Seeing where you live...get a tub, it's soooooo much easier to keep humidity up.

I have a tub for my baby blood python Kali. I have never misted it once. I have a medium water dish (not on the UTH). The hum maintains 56-62%. It's a 28qt ub with 13 1/2" holes. Hope that helps?!

Re: Securing a tub..
Thanks jglass, I will head over to home depot tomorrow and check those clamps out (and maybe a bungie cord or two too). But probably not to the extent of sidhe's :p ...btw sidhe if he does ever get out you'll have to rename him Houdini.

He doesn't even have a name yet:sigh2: He is my first BP and I hear all the time how they escape so, yeah it's overkill. As I increase my collection I will probably not be so paranoid about escapes.

Re: Securing a tub..
I just switched to a tub. I bought a 12 pack of those large binder clips (the 2 inch ones) and have them positioned the way sidhe does, except it's two on each long side and two on each short side. Nothing else such as bungie cords. Is this sufficient? (It's a 16 qt. Sterilite)

Re: Securing a tub..
I would say it deprnds on how tightly the tub locks for you. Mine is a little loose in that department. I did take the large bungee cord off, but the rest stays! LOL
