If you dilute chlorhexadine for long-term use (like in a spray bottle you'll be using for more than a few days), then use distilled water or else you'll get big chunky floaties of -something-. It's very very safe; at the vet hospital where I tech, we use it for an oral rinse, for flushing deep puncture wounds, and as a presurgical scrub.

Ive had chunky floaties but never in my Chlorhexidine. I use plain old tap water...Must be Walmart brand Chlorhexidine? :sweeet:

Ermm...no. Veterinary grade, varied brands. Nolvasan is the primary one. I couldn't tell you which one or ones....just that we had floaties in our spray bottles for a while until we started using distilled water, and I've heard similar reports from techs in other veterinary hospitals. It didn't seem to be brand-related. Maybe the quality of the tap water makes a difference?

Entirely possible! I've never used Nolvasan, only the generics...
