Welcome to BPNet, Lon! I bet you and your son, Brady, will have a wonderful lifelong relationship with your new BP. We have 4 children and I love watching their interactions with our various pets (which currently include ball pythons, a milksnake, a columbian boa, a crested gecko and a 5 month old puppy...yes we are all nuts, thanks for asking! lol). I think all pets teach life lessons to kids but snakes teach some very special lessons by virtue of their uniqueness as pets. Oh and most of the kids in the neighbourhood will think your son is very cool for having a pet snake and you are the best dad on the block for letting him have one LOL. Just remember to teach good handwashing at home after handling the snake. Especially important if you and he attend any reptile shows or visit pet stores together.
