Thanks everybody. My brain's telling me there's nothing we could have done and some babies just aren't meant to make it...my heart is another matter and I'm just sick that I couldn't stop it happening. Guess with time and experience one learns to accept these things when you have these little snakes around but I would bet somehow it never gets easier to lose one.

Hopefully at some point we will find another little stripey baby like Teagan was. We were so thrilled to add her to our collection.

I'm really sorry Jo. These things happen sometimes and there is nothing that one could do or have done to stop it. My condolences again to you and the family.

Thanks Snakey. I know it's silly but you just look at them and think what a damn shame to lose such a lovely snake so young....all that potential and beauty just snuffed out in a few moments of time. I know of course these things happen and it's nature's way to cull out those not perhaps perfectly suited but it's frustrating to just watch it happen and feel helpless. We would have put her down if it had continued but mercifully it was over so fast that decision wasn't ours to make.

She'd been checked yesterday morning as I do all the snakes on feeding day and seemed fine...typical BP curled up in her hide in the morning hours but I didn't actually handle her so perhaps it had been happening all day and I just missed the signs. :(

Again, thanks to all our BPNet friends. You folks are all so wonderful to care and be supportive. Most folks would think we're nuts to mourn the passing of one little snake we only owned 10 days. You don't and that's awfully kind of each and every one of you. :grouphug:
