Simple plastic wrap or aluminum foil (this will help boost temps a bit too) will work too. Towels can become a source of bacteria.

Re: slow shed
good point tigerlily (im not sure of your real name?)!
I have to side with bpkid on the tub (shuan right? or did I spell that wrong?) idea. I have 2 snakes one in a tub and one in a glass tank. First of all the tub setup was SO MUCH CHEAPER and second of all it is awesome for holding humidity.

Re: slow shed
This is not a good thing; a healthy shed is over in a matter of hours (sometimes, as in my one female's last shed, an hour.) You need to raise your humidity the moment you notice blue eyes! If your snake is in a tank, simply spray things down with hot water from a clean spray bottle and place saran wrap over most of the lid, respraying when needed. I honestly never have measured my humidity, but my snakes have never had a bad shed; I keep it so that the condensation is visible on the tanks' walls and things always fo great; then after shedding I let the tanks gradually dry out by removing the saran wrap and keeping their water dish full for hydration needs; never have any problems.
