Man you guys have some issues.... shooting a dog with a paintball gun because his owner left him off a leash.... shooting supposedly feral cats with a pellet gun is cruel and unusual, at least use a weapon that will get the job done if you have to put an animal down.

no ecosystem is supposed to handle anything alien to it. a feral cat killing a primate is NOT nature. nature would be an occelot or a jaguar killing and EATING the primate. most of the time the cat doesnt even eat what its killed.

yes, there are larger species in most of the united states, but none that eat little whiptails, for example.

Add to the list if you like, but I think cats, humans and praying mantis are the only animals, maybe killer wales that kill for the sport or fun of it!

Wow.. here's my opinion. I do not hate dogs or cate that run free; I hate their irresponsible, lowlife owners that let them do so. I know that responsible owners' animals get out from time to time accidentally, but this is not what I am talking about.
As for shooting animals w/paintball guns, I will shut my mouth now about it or risk violating TOS.

I can sufficiently defend my dogs correct? Yes. If there was a dog out trying to attack or even bother my dogs when they are fenced in the yard, I would do the same thing. Shoot it. Chances are 1 shot and it won't be coming back around.

Do you relize that by you making this statement on a public forum someone could turn you in?You can be arrested for cruelty to animals and be prosecuted and get jail time! It does not matter even though you are a juvy you would just go to a juvy jail.I am very shocked that you even wrote this here.

Well here we have a leash law. Any animal not in a fenced yard must be on a leash and under the control of it owner or it is considered stray. And if it was in my yard that would be different. But its in my carport and aggressive toward me and Carrie. And I ain't having that crap. POP POP.. Send a dog home painted neon yellow and pink and the owner get the idea. My brother use to catch cats that had collars and shave them and then send them home.. now that was funny.

This is very true. An earlier post said that they shoot at dogs in their carport with a paintball gun. I don't know if you guys realize it, but people do jail time for things like this. All that owner has to do is call the police and charge you with animal cruelty. The best thing you can do in situations like that is first notify the owner that their dog was in your property and warn them that you will call animal control if they continue to let their dog roam. You should never take things into your own hands. That could land you in jail.

I think they would have a very hard time proving animal cruelty because it has paint on it...LOL

And whether or not someone does Jail time depends on the states laws that they live in. I think the whole going to jail line is a little bit of over kill from a paintball gun!

If a dog is in someones carport area and they need to get in their car for work, appointment... funeral, wedding, donut sale, take kids to school or whatever....They shouldn't have to wait around for animal control to come deal with it. Some cities don't even have an animal control and rely on the nearest city unit to deal with their problems.... which often means...2hrs later they show up when the dog is no where to be seen. So I don't have a prob with someone dealing with it on their own provided it is isn't cruel. Although, I'm never surprised at how people seem to think they can tell someone how to deal with it....lol

In my town we have a "mean" dog law due to the illegal dog fights and the like. I do not live in the city limits I live in the county. If you are charged, challenged or other wise intimendated by a stray dog on your property. You have the legal right (to after giving fair warning to the owner and trying to deture the dog) to use what ever force you deme needed to keep you and your family safe. I am doing the guy a favor by using paint balls. I never shoot the dog I hit the ground around it. Only sometimes this works sometime I have to get the hose. When I have kids if the dog charges them and runs at them barking and threatening them I'll quit with the paintballs and move to my .45. I will not see my kids or wife hurt or scared to go in their own front yard cause some :cens0r: :cens0r: doesn't want to put up a fenct or use a leash. The dog is currently a danger to me and me only I can deal with that with the hose and paint balls. It barks, grawls, or charges my two year old or my wife and the dog will disapear. If it bites me or any one on my properity I am responsable not the dog owner ( all they have to do is say "no I don't have a dog").
