    Odds are you have a normal unless you specifically asked to purchase a het snake.

    Het is short for heterozygous, which basically means that the snake is carrying the gene that can produce albinos or whatever other kind of morph it is het for. Hets look like normal bps, but when you mate a pair of hets you get the visual morph, being an albino snake.

    Yeah like if your snake is 100% het, and you breed it to another 100% het, you get an Albino or whatever morph. Your snake isn't het unless you asked for one. Just like he said, chances are you have a het are slim.

    its like basic genetics..

    x represents the alleles

    xx = albino
    XX/Xx = normal

    XX = homozygous
    Xx = heterozygous - means they exhibit the normal trait but are a carrier for
    xx = recessive - the albino trait is exhibited

    do it with a punnett square

    cross two hets: (male along top, female down side)

    X x
    X XX Xx

    x Xx xx

    so assuming these two have 4 offspring, one will be homozygous, two will be het, one will be recessive (albino)

    assuming you cross a het and an albino

    X x
    x Xx xx

    x Xx xx

    This union will yield you two hets and two albinos!

    And if you ever cross two albinos, 99% of the time all their offspring will be albino.. 1% margin of error :p

    That is a basic monohybrid cross
