not breeding my rats... famous last words!

Oh he is cute. I'm not as expert as I'd like with patterns but I believe that's called a Bareback as his color extends down more than a capped rat like my Squeekers is but he has no markings down his back or on his body proper. Very cute little fellow, he'd make a nice pet quality if you aren't feeding this litter off.

and they are rex as their mama is rex. so we have 4 rex babies and 2 silkie.

i think we are going to feed them all off except the two we are keeping unless they grow too much before tey are fed off.

to freeze pups... what age is the oldest before that's no longer a 'gentle' option? is it before their eyes are open? and then you use gas. i've been searching for the answer but can't seem to find it.
