Yeah, the S. Festival in Ashland....never been, but want to go.

It's not normally so hot, but it does happen. And it's the PITS for the snakes when it happens....at least in my house. This is the first summer I've a)lived in THIS house, and b) had reptiles during a HOT summer, so I've had a H*** of a time keeping them COOL.

OH, YEAH...Into wines and/or lagers??? Microbrews?? There's a FANTASTIC microbrew festival/fair, and the Newport Seafood and Wine Festival in February is a MUST-GO!!!!!!!!! :carrot: :pinkele: :w00t:

I'll see what I can dig up on Monday as to (more) rules for critters. :)

Oregon is full of festivals! What is AZ's excuse? Oh yeah... heatstroke. You should see our Ren Fest, the poor guys in suits of armor cooking alive... so sad!

We're actually not drinkers but OMG real seafood yay!!

Karen and I had a question this morning about Oregon for you, and now I totally don't remember... dang. But we're already shopping around as far as places to live and I have the local rabbit rescue/adoption place bookmarked. :D If I can remember my question, I'll post it here, lol. :rolleye2:

We're gonna be so broke for a while though, lol! New wardrobe, new home, having gotten all the babies safely over there, new furniture (there's no way we're hauling most of this old junk), perhaps even a car... It'll be a while before any new snakes for me! At least that we don't produce ourselves. ;)

Now I remember! What's a good time of year to move, over there? Is Spring good, or would we be up to our elbows in mud and rain?

I live in the still mostly rural county of Yamhill, in a small town of 5200 people, half of which are housed in the federal prison. Yamhill county is just a little south of Multnomah county.
Oregonians are lucky because of the lack of restrictive laws on just about everything (besides the speed limit). I don't know about Multnomah County, but in Yamhill and Polk pretty much all snakes are ok. In fact I haven't found any restrictions on any snakes.
I've lived in Anchorage Alaska, Prescott and Phoenix Arizona, and now Oregon. Oregon is so far the best with it's mild climate and actually not so soggy weather. In Anchorage if it wasn't snowing it was raining it seemed, and I know it can rain hard in Arizona (monsoon season, and only transportation a bike).

That's really cool to hear, Topher! It really seems like the right place for us, and we're excited for the move. I've lived in Virginia, Colorado, and Arizona now. We USED to have hard rain for the monsoons, but the last couple of years... practically nothing. Rain is a rumor in Phoenix now, very "I heard it rained last night maybe..." The NW is really calling to us now, and it sounds ideal. Weather, culture, snake laws and all. :)

Late spring would probably be a good time. Things are starting to dry out and stay sunny & warm but not too hot....and no snow

If U wait until May-June, I'm sure the housing would be more available, as the colleges around here do commencement ceremonies in June. :)
