I've read a bunch of her books, my faves being Lestat and Queen of the Damned which are really one book anyway. (I won't see the movie, the commercials alone make me sad). She and Gregory Maguire's styles have really inspired and influenced me as a writer, although they seem to have this uncanny ability to.. you know... actually finish books, which I seem to lack. Grmph. Slowly but surely.

Oh! I did see that Sleeping Beauty book at FYE, but it was too expensive at the time; maybe I'll look it up on ebay.

I've read most of her books, and I'd have to say that my favorite book would have to be The Vampire Vittorio. -Swoon.- That, and Queen of the Damned. I'm just quite in love with Lestat.

I ruined any good point, of which there were few, for Justin when he finally saw it. They RUINED the book. Absolutely RUINED it. Mekare isn't mentioned, they muddled through the entire thing like bumbling idiots. At least in Interview most of the movie was true the book, minus that little tidbit about Armand being old enough to be my father. SO untrue. O_O

Yeah, Interview was okay but iffy, I could pass that off though as movies almost never being as good as the book though. Nothing quite how I imagined it, you know? But the commercials alone of QOTD turned me off completely. Akasha -to my eyes- was an ice queen and Mekere's story was an utterly fascinating and -ahem- important part of the book! Sure, the actor looked a lot more like I envision Lestat than Cruise, but... that appeared to be all it has going for it. My Mom's still trying to get me to see it so she can share her pain.

Meh. Allyeha or however you spell her name was a HORRIBLE Akasha. She didn't even half-way embody the true nature of the Queen. Oh, and I saw Cruise as the perfect Lestat. He had style, and I could really see someone falling in love with that sort of Lestat. The other guy was just...Meh. VIOLET EYES! VIOLET EYES! They just ruined the book...

Huh! Well, I never saw the movie and prolly never will so I'll take your word for it on the actor. ;) I'm the sort of twisted individual who will totally crush on someone like Akasha (dark haired "villainesses" and ice queens slay me, it's a sickness) and the posters for that movie alone made me stop and go "Wtf? That's not my Akasha! What, is she belly dancing? For seriously??"

Also, Lestat and QOTD are one book far as I'm concerned. I knew there was no way they could do it justice in a 2 hour movie. :P
