I appreciate everyone's sympathy a ton. I am still upset but I know in the breeding of any animals, this is bound to happen. At least now I have my incubator waiting and know what to expect; next year will be better.

So sorry to read this Gin. I've no experience with egg hatching so little to say of any real consequence but like you I'd be searching for answers and info about what occurred. Big hugs dear and I'm sorry you and your boyfriend went through this experirence with such a sad ending to it.

Jen I wished to extended my deepest condolences. I know what you are going through, as I went through it earlier this year with one of my hatchlings. It is definitely heart wrenching. But, keep your chin up and look forward to next year. It can only get better.

    Sincerely,

Thanks guys; I seriously appreciate it. I am still bummed today about it; like something's missing. I guess you really can't count your eggs until they actually hatch.
I have a theory; since the egg was so badly dented, it seems almost like the snake only had half an egg to develop in; maybe that's why his body was so bunched up? I don't know; next time I breed I'll know not to spray the eggs directly with water, and then not to let them get too dry after doing so and finding out that was wrong.
Maybe other can learn from this; other beginner breeders may not know, not to spray water right onto the eggs. I would just ask anyone that has a caresheet on eggs and breeding to advise this.
    You guys are awesome.

Thanks; I am definately trying this (for next) year. I am in the process of looking for a weird male, possibly a het for something.
