Re: Well You asked and here they are... My stories (very LONG)
If I could I would take every reptile they had at that place. most of the time they wouldnt sell due to extream prices. Only when I really started working there and got all of the cages cleaned and looking good did the animals start to sell. my boss sold a guy a iguana and later I found out that it was left in the barracks (single military houseing) for 3 months with out food but as the guy told me when I took it away from him by order of the houseing manager "I left to tolit lid up so it could drink!" I dont know how many animals I ended up rescueing that my boss sold to people who didn't have a clue what they were getting into. To keep that from happening I took over for all of the reptile sales and started giving out care sheets on the stock of reptiles that we had. each reptile i sold I gave a care sheet to, a list of other places that were cheaper to buy suplys from (this was about the time I was getting fired and about had it with my boss) and another list of local reptile vets with phone #s. My rescues went down in # after a week of providing the info. Prices there for reptile suplys were out thr roof high. a 10 gal reptile tank would cost $160 +tax. and the smallest EXOtera mesh cages would go for $200 the largest for $800. I loth that store! wanna know something funny about my boss... *evil grin* #1 he has a bad fear of touching people or being touched. #2 he has a fear for small fuzzy animals, #3 he turns in to a crying pile of human waste when he sees a fish flopping on the ground and screams like a girl. and finaly #4 I feel that the #1 reason why I feel I got fired was due to the fact that I wouldnt let him get into my nikkers.
I thank you all for letting me vent this. and it is nice to know that some of you have been there , done that and may have gotten a shirt out of it too. (depending if you worked at a place where you had to wear there t-shirts)
