Here's the technical problem with that proposal:

If you were to force text as black, for example - dark themes are moot and can't be used, etc.

(Also the predicted hew and cry of the site becoming repressive and stepping on peoples ability to use those features they have become used to would be fairly emphatic at the least)

Forgot to mention though that you can turn off things like signatures and avatars in your user control panel - which may help make it look less hectic if you have the boss's eyes hovering nearby.

quit making me go to dictionary.com to understand your posts.

Why not just get rid of the "annoying" colors on the pallet?

This one, this, this one, this too, and that one.

    Dictionary.com won't hurt you.

Unfortunately I don't think the colors can be picked out like that.

I tend to skip over posts that are too brightly colored myself - too hard to read for me.

Personally, I think plenty will be accomplished just by having this thread. It will serve to remind people that sometimes their choices of text color and/or font will not always fit other people's theme choices, personal taste or eyesight abilities.

If they choose to continue to post with unique colors and textures, that is their option. They are now aware that some people may not be reading their words. Up to them if they care or not.

It is quite surprising to me that anyone who already feels weighted down by all the "rules" around here would want something so stifling to be added to our list of regulations. Personally I keep quite busy enough enforcing such rules as we already have, and have no desire to add more.

NOW....if you want a new theme that looks more "business like"...please define that for me within the confines of the structure we already have, and I'd be thrilled to whip one up for ya!
