A cheap one is more than likely going to be an agressive cb baby. If your going to buy one at all I would go for it and buy one from a good breeder to assure a tame and well started one. Pay the exta $20-50 for such a blood and you'll be happier in the end

Bloods & short-tails (or any other snake, for that matter) are not for inexperienced keepers who decide they want one because the name is "gangsta"...and if you're looking for cheap, then you'll get what you pay for...cheap.

If you're more concerned with price than thoroughly educating yourself regarding proper care & husbandry of the species, you're doing both you & the snake a HUGE disservice!!! :stab: :stab: :stab: :stab:

    Ok...

I didnt say the were ENTIRELY the same, but most along the lines as the same husbandry requirements.

And i know Jimmy, And he's been keeping Regius for over 5 years and he has quite experience with the bloods.

All he wanted to know was that if they are the same, or different, so he can learn to keep the happily.

And if you get up tight about callin the snake a "gangsta"...thats a little stupid.

(trying not to take personal attacks, just setting facks straight)

    Psl...

No kiddo, I'm not getting uptight about you & your buddy calling the snake a "gangsta." (LOL!) It's the overall attitude of coming on to a message board & expecting to be spoon-fed the same information that any reptile keeper who is capable of free, intelligent thought should be able to research & thoroughly understand prior to acquiring said animal, regardless of species. Yes, I do realize that message boards have, in a sense, become a form of research...but check the search feature here to start. This forum is packed with good information that could be reaped with a little time & effort.

Bloods & short-tails are not "stick the snake in a box & expect it to thrive" species...they are not as forgiving of husbandry errors as some other snakes. They are very cool snakes to keep if one can do so correctly. They're not rocket science either, but do require some finesse & thoughtfulness with regards to what makes them tick, as well as what ticks them off.

Funny...folks who talk about being experienced with these species generally understand the nuances between bloods & STPs, not to mention where to find them "cheap" and what they're typically getting for such a label. And we won't even get into the whole adult size/feeding "regurgiment" (sic)/cage size questions...

    Just my $.02....
