I used RodentPro for 2-3yrs and never had a single complaint, every shipment was flawless.

That was until late last year into early this year on three-four shipments. I noticed the rats were coming in smaller than before, shipments were coming in thawed Vs always being rock solid, heads were falling off, rats breaking in 1/2, rats with large gashes along the mid sections or missing limbs.

I'm not sure if they fell under new management or what, but their quality just went down the drain! Needless to say, I stopped using them...

I've also noticed they are now always having some type of sale on a large scale. Before it would be maybe 2-3 sizes of rats or mice on sale, now I see 5-6-8 sizes of rats and mice for sale.

As for the regurge, just let him relax for 12-14 days and do not feed during this period. Make sure you have fresh water at all times and keep the temps up. Also the cool side temp is a bit too low, I would get that up to 79-80F.

I had the same type of experience with them. No problems until last year. Then rats with heads broken off and horrible urine and feces soaked rats. I was later told that they were using other breeders to fill orders and that accounted for the size and quality differences. Not sure if they have fixed that but I for one wont take a chance on it. I like my suppliers.

I have been hearing more and more complaints over the past year too. Its wierd. I will probably not have to order frozen again since I should have lots of breeding rats in the near future but if I do I'll try someone else

I havent ordered any frozen feeders online..I am fortunate enough to be able to get them from a local guy. I have so many different sized prey I need at different times, it's easier/cheaper to order locally. However, Im ashamed to admit I've been so broke lately, Ive had to go to PetCo..

I have heard a few stories lately re: thawed/damaged orders from Rodent Pro..
Dont know what the deal is. From my understanding, they are good about replacing the orders though. Still frustrating in the meantime.

    Good luck Jake!

So in other words they are thawed but still "cool" so they "should" be okay? Again it's just me but if I buy a product, whether it's frozen rats or a bicycle, I want what I paid good money for. "Should be okay" wouldn't be enough for me when it comes to feeding my snakes and to me frozen/thawed means the prey best be frozen when it comes to my door not already thawed out. Unfortunately, they only way you're going to find out they weren't "okay" is when you feed them off and either your snakes are okay or they aren't. I'd be very careful to watch if you use these that when you do eventually rethaw and warm them they have no stink of decomp going on.

i would raise those temps. on the warm side it should be within 3 degrees of 90. on the cool side it should be between 79-83. 75 is not acceptable and you will start having Respatory infections. as for the regurg these things happen sometimes. i would wait at least 2 weeks before i tried to feed again then i would feed a rodent that is half the size that you snake normally eats. for at least 3-4 feedings or until you snake takes a big healthy bowl movment. best of luck bro keep us posted.

i wouldn't use the product myself.

it's kinda like feeding your kids... would you give them something that may or may not be safe?

and - if it isn't safe and causes a problem in your snakes... who's paying the vet bills?
