I found a mom and pop place in the mall that sells hamsters. I got to know the gal who own the store and she gave me all the weened babies for free and gave me a pair for 2 bucks +tax. OT real quick... She also has the best looking BP babies I have ever seen, full sheds, eating and very fat. I really hope to work for her.
As for my male He was a rescue and Mice just were not cutting it. he was at 120+ grams when I got him. Poor baby, he was in very bad shape, forgotten about for over a year with out food or water. I didnt think he would servive.
Use extreme caution with the hamsters! I once saw a hamster fight off a white throat monitor...and the only reason the white throat got it was because it had in the past been a very aggressive "rodent disposal" at the pet store....can't imagine what a hamster could do to a wussy little bp!

He was KO first... Im not feeding a fully awake hamster. I know what the teeth of thoughs little devils can do... Plus i will only feed males, they are a little less agressive then the females. I lost two males to one female one time. the frigging witch killed and ate the 2!

What's wrong with being a Witch?
I would never feed hamsters. I know that they sometimes store nuts/feed in their cheeks, and I would be afraid that it could somehow harm my snake or mess with its digestion.

I clear the cheeks first. It is actualy easy to do when the hamster is KO. I have gon over eveything that might harm my snakes, and i see nothing wrong with it.
Here is wht I do to avoid any problems:
I look the hamster over for any problems, if it checks out fine I knock it out. I open the mouth to clean out any food it is holding. then I place it in the cage and all is done.
My snakes are my children, and I would go out of my way to make shure they are going to be safe. I KO my mice befor feeding them as well. Lady is covered with bad scars due to a very large rat she was housed with right befor i got her. She will take fully live mice or what have you but she is leery about them, and gets stressed if one runs up to her.
