You could use unprinted newspaper, regular newspaper, kraft indented paper or papertowels. Right now we use regular newspaper and it's fine, other than our male won't defecate unless I toss in the sports page LOL.
You could start your baby BP off on plain old white papertowels. Very handy for watching for any bugs that hitched a ride home (hopefully you won't deal with that from a reputable breeder) and easy to collect a fecal sample if you want or need that done.

Re: getting ready to add a BP to the family
Hey, I am fromt Toronto too, and there is an AMAZING place called Reptilia. They have reptile everything, I get all my f/t rats there. They actually sell everything and are very knowledgable about all their reptiles. They just moved to their new location, which they have a mini zoo (I'm waiting to go see their crocodile!) But anyway, they sell anything and everything for all reptiles there, husbandry, food..you name it. I just don't think they have any BP morphs, just normals. But check the place out, I've been going there for 4 years for my BP, and hes doing great!

Oh I was at the expo, see I would've had a BP a couple years ago but my girlfriend is(was) terrfied of snakes until i brought her to the expo....i got her to hold a baby first which she did until it looked at her adn she felt intimidated, she she got a little attached as well, so we moved on to a 3.5 ft female and she fell in love, she had her for probably an hour. Her uncle breeds milks and corns so is talking to some of his connections for a good deal on a BP for us, but i don't mid paying money if it's healthy
by the way, she is still terrified of small quick snakes like corns .
