You know, I thought that last tail splotch looked like an 'e'.

I bet the vine snake medusa will be very cool. I love the eyes on those snakes.

I love vine snake's eyes too, so alien and otherworldly! The blood python had a very earthy feel to me, and the vine snake is more airy which is why I named it "Oreithyia" after a nymph who was wooed/abducted by the North Wind. It'll be fun to do. :)

And thank you, Judy! BTW, we're definitely coming down to the Tuscon Expo come Sept/Oct, hope to see you there!

I think you should do a "snowy scene" Medusa with LRs...:D...heh heh...or maybe a yin-yang Medusa with Black and white snakes?????

Yep, it says Vampire! Or at the very least "Vamp", lol, it gets kinda fuzzy in there like snake pattern messages do.

:lmao: "Mythological herping gear"! I love it! I do need to do a piece including Perseus, but as you can imagine my muses aren't terribly fond of the dude. ;) But I definitely want to do a "true to the legend" Perseus creeping up on the poor innocent sleeping Medusa at some point.

I'll PM you about the Expo, Judy!

Espeically if you use one of the more "cute" snakes as the model...something like a lovely pastel color or one of the corn morphs with their lovely softer colors. Make Medusa look very young and innocent (maybe even napping/basking)...poor thing being creeped up upon.

I love the a black/white ying yang idea too! You could use an LTR for the white and a big black milksnake or indigo as the black. Nice comment on duality in our snakes and ourselves.

Exactly! I always envision the Medusa as sweet, young, and innocent. In fact the model for her I always have in mind is Sidney Poitier's adorable daughter, Sydney.

I also tend to think of her as Leucistic, or similarly pale/soft/maybe iridescent. No idea on the snake species yet though... but definitely something sweet and cute. I've always viewed her as a very sympathetic character, which I hope to portray in the novel that's taking 400 years

Oooh, I hadn't considered that option! I love black and white ying/yang snakes, kind of like my "Reflection" piece. :) That one's actually the closest I think I've done to the Medusa.
