Jeanne, totally--velcro really sounds like the most sure-fire solution, with the only real con being that then you have a stick of velcro more or less permanently on the wall of the tank. Of course, as has been implied, this really isn't that big of an issue, especially if one knows that the velcro is going to be there pretty much for the life of the snake.

Christie, you mean you can take off the sticky part of the 3M hook when you're done with it? Actually, come to think of it, I vaguely recall seeing a commercial for that. Cool! Another option.

Sara, yes, it was a compliment! :D

If you use velcro, put the rough side on the accurite, and the softer side on the tank.

Yes, you can remove the 3M hooks. They are very strong, and no sticky stuff is exposed.

I have mine stuck on the cool side with velcro, I learned that no suction cups stick to the Animal Plastics cage so the velcro or 3M hooks are my only option.

With my suction cup method I took the hook off and jammed the knobby part into the hole in the back of the Accurite. No sharp edges if it ever falls off. So it is completely safe, and fairly stable. Only has fallen down once in 6 months.

So I decided to go with the suction cups and, like bdehlin, I simply removed the hooks. Works great!

So I took Ash to the vet this morning. Doc says he's "very healthy!" and that I can feed him as soon as this Sunday, since the regurg wasn't really caused by sickness or anything of the sort, but just by stress. But evidently Ash seems quite alright now. Poor guy has indeed been hungry, the way he's flicking his tongue and crawling around his tank, so I'm sure he'll be thankful for his next meal!

    Thanks all!
