    You're right too Cassandra. Definitely toss out the cage furnishings and sterilize the tank itself with 10% bleach solution.

    Unless the necropsy is done immediately after death, there is probably not much that can be discovered.

    Personally, I wouldn't introduce ANYTHING into that same environment ... ever.

    There are tons of organisms that could be responsible for the death of that snake ... the dark red belly could just be a side effect of the cause of death ... (ie, viral, bacterial, etc.).
