Re: BP's n cats??
my cat sits on my corn snake enclosures hoping to grab one to play... but whenever a snake is out... my ball, boas or corns... she totally ignores it.
i never leave my snakes alone when they are out... they may be on the coffee table or climbing the windows... but i'm always there watching out for them.

Re: BP's n cats??
ok here's my story...
My cat and BP usually get along... till yesterday. The cat was in my lap as my BP was crawling closer to go under my legs. Cat freaked out so i held her up as she managed to tear up my legs (about a dozen bad scratches) then she started to bite my hand so I let her go. When I looked at my hand I had 2 deep puncture wounds and when i move my skin i could see my vein... so, I have learned not to put the two together anymore. :( My hand is very swollen, sore, stiff, and was blue. <grrrrr>

I would highly suggest a trip to the doctor. Cat bites/scratches can be VERY nasty. I had a friend who required some serious surgery on her wrist/hand due to a cat bite getting infected.

Re: BP's n cats??
My cat Mikey is a huge baby. Where ever I am..her likes to be, what ever Im doing he likes to stick his nose right on in there. He sleeps by my side, lays on my lap on the couch ,and waits for me to get out of the shower..a total mammas boy. When we first got Khan he had to be in the room by our side ever time we went to look in the tank or went inside to get Khan. Mostly I think he was just curious as to what we were doing and why wasnt I paying any attention to him. For about 3 weeks this went on. now he just likes to see what we are doing and finds his corner in the room to lay in.
Do I think Mikey would ever eat Khan?...naa but I do think he would put a few claw marks in him if he got the chance.
Keep em apart.(like lock kitty in the bathroom when snakey is out) respect that in nature they wouldnt live together nor would they ever be civil if kept to close for comfort.

Re: BP's n cats??
Eeek, I'm sorry to hear that, Karma :( I hope you feel better soon...
My cat is ancient and very mellow. We can easily trust her alone with our cockatiel and rabbits (the doves, however...), but I'm wary about with the snakes, never know who might scare who. Cleo doesn't seem to pay *any* attention to the colubrids, but she glares at Gomez when he's out. She gets so jealous! But she's never gotten near him, and I like keeping it that way. She's a very mellow girl, but I like to play it safe.
