Awww, thanks! Comes from being around my brothers and father and thier friends when I was younger. You see, my ex and my hubby Bri both are not very mechanically inclined, so Dad and all the other guys I was around taught me to not have to depend on any guy to work on any of my vehicles; plus a guy could not use the excuse that we were stuck somewhere cause his vehicle broke... and yes this really did happen once, I got out and just had to re-attach a coil wire to start it up....nice try buddy...now take me home! Hehehe And to be honest, I would rather work on my own just b/c then I know what was or what was not done to them..plus I dont get jacked over for HIGH repair bills by having to go to a mechanic.... although, if I dont feel like working on my vehicles, my brother or Dad will do it for me; Dad loves me and my brother loves me..and he is a mechanic!

I was the only girl in Auto shop in H.S. , funny thing is, I took it hoping to learn something I did not know or learn better ways of doing things that Dad and the boys taught me...but ended up instructing my peers most of the time. I think it should be MANDATORY (sp?) for ALL females to take some form of Auto shop, to get a basic knowledge of thier vehicle at minimum. (Yes, my daughter is taking auto shop, on top of what she is learning from me, her grandpa and uncles) I cant tell you how many times I have heard of women/girls taking vehicles in and getting jacked with high repair bills b/c the mechanic is trying to make you pay for as much as possible cause of being a girl and having the advantage that MOST girls/women know nothing about the vehicle they drive other than putting in oil and basic fluids just to keep it running.

My mechanic skills are limited to having my car dealership service desk on speed dial and being on first name basis with all the service guys...

This weekend: painting miniatures, sleeping in, playing with snakies, eating!

Funny story, my sis-in-law had her engine die a few years back. Her statement / defense (this is the God's honest truth) was "The Engine Light didn't come on every three months like its suppose to." I about lost it. Still makes me laugh when I think about it.

I'm hoping to get some riding time in on the new bike...where to? Who knows and I don't really care :) The wife has a shiny new blue helmet on order that came in today so we'll pick it up after work..."extra small". I don't think we have any family plans now that I'm not going away. But I will definately have the grill going. Maybe go to a flea market Monday with the inlaws....maybe. Other than that taking some time out to remember the brothers I've lost in Iraq, and ALL those that have fallen in previous conflicts.

Hope you all have a safe and enjoyable weekend!

I have way too much going on this weekend!!

    1. Graduation party (Sat.)
    2. X-men III movie (Sat.)
    3. Get our camper ready (sun.)
    4. help my step dad with their camper (sun.)
    5. reseed grass in front yard (mon)
    6. plus my everyday clean, feed, water for snakes, rats and mice.

I wish the camper was ready so I could just go camping instead. :( By the way my idea of camping is grilling all day and drinking around a campfire all night. ;)

Well since Mike is working all weekend not much going on around here really. He's working, I'm continuing the daily battle of what box needs unpacked now and where in heck should everything go LOL. Of course, time to reflect on freedom and it's costs here and worldwide and as always, to feel very thankful for those that gave the ultimate sacrifice so my children sleep safe at night.
