    We feed once a week on the same evening just around dusk when the snakes, who are nocturnal by nature, tend to be out and about or at least waking up.

    If your snake is really moving about a lot, he may be a bit stressed out. One of the little tricks a lot of us have tried is crumpling up some newspaper and tossing it all around the enclosure. It helps the snake feel safer and less exposed to slither around and under it and can really help calm down a nervous new snake.
