Damian sometimes won't even wait for the mouse to hit the floor before he snatches him out of midair. I love the feeding response out of him. He's now eating 2 adult mice per week.

It's not really about being more "tame" than a BP, it's about the type of snake. Most colubrids just hunt/consume prey differently than boids. We have a Nelson's Milksnake that never constricts her prey, just sort of sits on it then swallows it butt first. That actually freaked me out at first as I'm more used to our Ball Pythons and the big BCI we are fostering who hit hard and then constrict fully before snarfing down their furry dinner.
Be glad you have a hard hitting, aggressive feeding response type of python. Nothing better than that in my books :)

That strike is always a surprise. We have had Tuleo for over 4 years now, and I still jump because he hits rats like a freight train. :oops: You should have no trouble getting him to take a second hopper, just watch you hands. ;) Congratulations and welcome!!!!
