Thanks guys. I only feed still born goats and goats that are 'Failing to Thrive'. The rest of the time they eat rabbits. She could eat a meal like that every 10-14 days. And of course, they are all humanly killed. I have great respect for the role feeder animals play in our hobby. I don't take it lightly.

You are what you eat. Sticking it to the feeders is the same as sticking to our pets.

I think he's just saying that if we abuse/neglect our feeders, then we're giving our pets sub-standard food...in essence, passing the neglect on to our snakes.

I'd be interested to hear how someone might think I'm doing that. Goats are an excellent food source, and this animal was neither in poor health (aside from the hip) or treated inhumanely.

Failing to thrive can mean many things. A baby human can be in perfect physical health and 'Fail To Thrive'.

Oohhh, I don't think he was accusing you of doing that! I think he was agreeing with you that we should always respect our feeders. Obviously, if I'm wrong, I hope Brad will speak up for himself, but I don't think I am. So far as I can tell, no one here has a problem with your methods of feeding giant snakes. It's obvious from their glowing health and beauty that you're doing something right!!

That's cool, I didn't mean to sound so defensive. As you can imagine, I've gotten a lot of grief for feeding hoofstock. But like I said, I treat all animals with respect, and besides they mostly eat Rabbits. Thanks for clarifying.
