www.nsreptiles.com makes a pretty good incubator, but you will find out that the majority of people build their own.

ok, since this will be my first time, I may just make my own.;) ....... I think I may do hognoses since they dont requir to much space. Would this be a good first breeding project? Iv researched for along time and cant find much on how to breed and so on. Any one know of anything to help teach me....... books, sites, what ever with good information will do. Thanks

PJ, hognoses are cool snakes, but for a first time breeding project, I don't know if I would go that route. They can be a little pricey for a newbie to purchase for breeding, and be sure the ones you are buying are well established CBB feeding on rodents. There are TONS of unscrupulous vendors out there selling WC they are trying to pass off as CB. You may want to consider corns.....they are a little hardier and an adult pair would cost a lot less than an adult pair of piggies.(that's what i call em') plus, corns come in a plethora of color varieties.

Corns, milks, or kings would make about the best first breeders if you want something simple. And with those you can use a hovabator on a good tstat and be set.

hovabators are basically small styrofoam boxes with a simple heating element in them. personally for a small bator, i would build a treasure chest type box, or use a large plastic cooler. a large cooler one that would take 2 to carry it. in the cooler i would put in flexwatt hooked up to a thermostat, use water bottles to act as a heat sink. here's a link to a real fancy one

imo, it doesn't have to be that fancy, you could simplify that design and go with it. don't skimp on the thermostat, a helix would be great for a bator, or any other proportional thermostat.
