Re: Want a morph. Price range?
Definitely will do, although i don't get financial aid until september. Is there a specific season where these are more available or is it mostly a year round thing?

Re: Want a morph. Price range?
June, July, August...those are probably the months that a person would have the biggest selection of new babies. September should be fine, too. But you can find what you're looking for pretty much at any time of the year...just might have to look a little harder sometimes.

Re: Want a morph. Price range?
as judy said, sept. will be fine! if you're looking for cb babies, breeders are hatching them now through the rest of the year. by sept. you should be able to find nice well started babies. pastels are a great way to into morphs! you can sell/trade the babies and make morphs you're first year!

Re: Want a morph. Price range?
Be smart when you are buying Hets. Don't just jump on the first "good deal" that you see. Check out the breeder before you buy, ask for references, etc... There are far too many scumbags out there that will prey upon the uninformed and pass off normals as Hets, then 3 years later if they don't prove out the original seller has disappeared. Caveat emptor! ;)

Re: Want a morph. Price range?
Ok, i just spent a little time researching hets. If I mix 2 100% het, i should get 1/4 normal, 1/2 het and 1/4 homozygous right? That means that two 100% het's should yield atleast one homo on the first try right?
Here another question, when breeding homo's, they should be from completely different parents right?
Also, these het rules apply for albino, what other morphs work this way?

Use hypos for example....If you breed two het hypos together....each egg will have a 25% chance of being a homozygous hypo, 50% chance of being het hypo, and 25% chance of being normal....You can not tell hets from normals so all normal appearing offspring are labeled as 66% hets...which means they each have a 66% chance of being heterozygous.
Each egg has its own odds. The more eggs you have, the better your odds of getting a homozygous animal will be. Nothing is guaranteed in reptile breeding....you may get all normal appearing offspring from a het to het breeding....but then again, you may get all homozygous babies....it depends on how the ball python morph gods favor you.

albino, hypo, pieds, caramels, axanthic, stripes, clowns off the top of my head. with a slew of other combos and designer morphs to cross with. do a little search on this site and others like nerd's ,ralph's (rdr), they have a bunch of morph info.

Yes...unless there are unexpected het genes from something else hiding in there.
