Re: Survey Results!
I dont mind going "generic" for something if the quality/taste/price/etc. is right. But for some products, I'll only buy name brand because the off-brands aren't worth the savings when they're garbage/taste horrible.
I'm a fanatic loyal. As long as I remain satisfied, I will continue to be a customer for a long, looooong time. On the flip side, burn me, and I'm your worse nighmare, and I'll tell EVERYBODY what a lousy business you are.
Since my collection has grown by gigantic leaps, I'm now short of t-stats. An ACCURATE & RELIABLE t-stat cheaper than $80-100+ or $200 would be a Godsend right now. Of my 3 latest, two of the 3 are dead on for both temps, but my lower tub says it's 98* or higher when the other two are spot on 93 but I don't have any more thermostats yet.
How about cages w/o the extraneous lights as a snake option??? But include one light for viewing (daylight or red for nighttime viewing---I enjoy being able to watch my snakes roam when I can't sleep at night), an untippable bowl? (Now that I have a larger snake, it's already an issue). 11" flexwatt so I can put mult. cages stacked w/the same heat throughout? I like cages like AP/Boaphile and CagesByDesign, but just don't have the more than $200/ea. to drop for (now) 10 snakes. And the shipping is horrendous!

How about a door that opens to the side instead of down. That is honestly one of the main reasons I have never purchased a boaphile stack. I have had one cage that had a door that folded down and broke it relatively quickly.

Re: Survey Results!
Well another thing that's nice about boaphile is that a 4'x2' cage is $200 SHIPPED.. the shipping doesn't kill you on it.
I love cages that have a door that opens down.. a side open (if swinging) would take a lot more room to open, and sliding doors make cleaning harder (have to work around the doors) Boaphile uses high quality hinges and bolts, so the door is not going to just break on you.

The swinging on a 2 door cage doesn't really take up much more space than the folding down option. The side hinged doors should be able to open all the way and lay flat against the other stacks.

I agree sliding doors are harder to clean and the only good way to do it is to be able to remove them.

The problem is with plexiglass doors with screws in it is it causes a weak point. The cage I had a problem with had a door attached similar to Boaphile and I had a burmese python in it, when I was removing the snake for cleaning I "smacked" my elbow right next to the hinge and cracked it across the plexiglass.
It is just purely my preference on the doors, it was not meant to have them make all cages that way. Just to have the side hinged doors as an option. :)

Re: Survey Results!
Yeah.. I just prefer one big door that stays out of the way when I'm cleaning.. but nothing wrong with options, that's for sure. lol
