    Its ok to feed your snake a variety of things, but for his size rats will probably be the easiest way to go. If you are feeding a 4' Ball Python mice, at 40-50 grams a pop you might need to feed him 5 mice before he has as much to eat as a large rat.

    Do not worry about overstuffing, Ball Pythons tend to be opportunistic feeders, once a week isn't overstuffing, but if his body says that he has had enough, he may just go on a fast for a period of time until he is ready to eat again. I think offering him once a week (after a week of settle-in-time) would be ok to do. Think of it in the wild, he might have only been finding a meal every 3 months, but suddenly more rats move in and he can eat once a week, it shouldnt be a stress on his system.
