I am Not getting out of the business unless someone buys me out.

This is what I don't get...if he's not looking to get out of the business why is his entire collection up for sale?

Seems to me that he wants to see if there is any interest in his company just because...

So does he really want to sell out, or is he just fishing for offers?

I was surfing over on KS tonight and found something else interesting!

If he's looking at selling his entire collection then why is he posting current wanted ads to involve himself in trades for new ball pythons?

I wish we could find someone who knows whats going on to get the inside scoop....as of now something smells shady.

It just makes good business sense, he cant abandon his business until it is sold, if he gets a solid offer he will suspend business and sell to that person, otherwise its game on.

Notice he doesnt list what is in his business unless you inquire, so he can do any trades/sales that he wants until that point, I doubt with the number of snakes he has that what he is currently doing would depreciate the value of the business, if anything it would increase the value.

maybe he is just bored, lacks the drive to compete in the pastel market, or lacks passion for the hobby/snakes?

    just some thoughts?:confuzd:

Competition in the pastel market? Isn't he the single largest producers of pastels?

Upon receiving your animals I will set up and attempt to feed live rats or mice twice in 7 days. If they eat 2 times without refusal, I will then ship you 1 of Our 2005 Male Pastels.

Hrm, ok, so if you have your females eating healthily once a week and he tries to get them on a power feeding schedule and they dont go, the deal is off? lol

I would think that he measn he will OFFER twice a week if necessary. If he tries for two weeks, and they don't eat then he would assume they were problem animals.
ONLY my opinion, but I would assume this is what he means. Thus the word 'attempt' rather than a more definate working of If they DON"T eat twice a week, then the deal is off.
I wish I had the money I would go snap it up. I think he doesnt' want the hassle of going through selling the collection off bit by bit, which would not only take forever, but also mean he had to mess with it for possibly months without making any money at all, as he tried to get the lower value animals out. Selling in one lump means he has his money and can go on to whatever his new plans in life are.
With what he has been said to have.. I would have no doubt that you would recoup the entire purchase price of the business in two years.
That said.. I wouldn't live in Miami for any amount of pythons. I dislike the city, too urban for me.

I spoke with Andre just 2 weeks ago and he mentioned nothing about this to me, I'll have to call him up and see what's going on!

This is strange, I would guesstimate ASF sold between $300K-$400K for the past 2yrs straight, just last year they moved to a nice 2500-3000sqft facility from their previous 1000sqft facility.

I know they've recently had some nasty fall outs with some customers and occasionally have a brain fart with some of the ads they place on KS. But overall they have a pretty nice size collection of Pastels, Spiders, Albinos, Bumble Bees, Mojaves and a few others.

I wouldn't say he's the largest, but he does produce quite a bit of Pastels! What you see on that website, may account for 1/2 or even 1/4 of what he actually has.

After reading that ad for his company, I'd chalk this one up to another brain fart! Not the selling his company or his collection, but the way he's going about it and the wording used in the ad.

I'll give Andre a call this afternoon and see what's up..
