Well, I think that I covered relative burrow temps in my previous post, but I'll add this ... From friends that I have talked to that have been to west Africa and actually did field work with the trappers that collect ball pythons every day, I know that many ball pythons are found inside large termite mounds. These mounds are above ground on the open plains and are magnets for the harsh rays of the equatorial sun. I have been told that when you stick your hand inside one of these "burrows" that ball pythons are frequently found in your hand begins to literally sweat from the high temps and high humidity.

It's possible the pinking is also a start of a shed cycle. Before Wrigley gets miffy, he starts to pink up on his tummy. Between that and his Dr. Jekyll attitude change, I know he's getting grumpy and heading into a shed, before his eyes even change color.

Bigger holes on the lid of the tub would be helpful for the humidity. But you'll want to bump it up during the shedding.

Welcome to the group! :handshake: Now you know you're a bonafide herp parent!!! You're a worrywart about the body changes for your snakey charge. :P We'll know you're TOTALLY addicted when you start raving about the poo and feeding frenzies and start mentioning future racks and more balls! :D :D
