Oh I'm so glad you got your first female a cage buddy and are doing quarantine just to be safe. Bryan (Bdadawg) gave you some great advice there. Mine are nuts for the olive oil dipped stale bread so I can generally get the most reluctant one to come forward for that. I do have one female though that's a spazzed out nutcase but since she's a good breeder (just raised her first litter of 11 w/o incident and they all turned out nice and chunky weans) I keep her around. She's untouchable...not mean or nippy...she's just totally freaked out by all humans. If she was for a pet, she'd be impossible....as a breeder she's just fine.

Sadly, that's the case with Shroom, the second I try to touch her, she's running away scared, I sat with unsalted peanuts (I like to give variety treats, lol) in my open palm for about 30 minutes, and she wouldn't even come near my hand to figure out what it was, just sat scared in the corner. :(

Try the oil dipped bread...just offer it not on your palm but from your fingers....that might start her equating your hand (scent) with good yummies. Either that or call the pet store and ask for an exchange with a more socialized female, some are just spazzy.
