    Re: Excessive Soaking???
On day 2 the thought did cross my mind. My wife just called and mentioned that he is still in there soaking it up. I think this time around he is having some issues with this shed in particular. I'm still worried, I hope I don't have to haul him to the vet. I'll give him a call in a few and see if this is normal. Of course, he'll say bring him in and let's have a look (Ka-ching). I have a great vet he is worth it.

Probabaly not. If everything is kept really clean, I would not worry about it. It's the humidty which leads to bacteria and fungus growth. This when exposed to fecal degradation products can lead to necrotic dermatitis/scale rot. If everything checks out ok with the vet visit, then I wouldn't worry about the soaking too much.

Thanks Raj:rockon:. Everything is always clean. Weekly scubbing of the tubs and the frequent tossing / replacing of the substrate when soiled is like a never ending event for me. Thank goodness the kids enjoy helping.

    I feel a lot better now.:D

Good to know! Like I said - I didn't pose the question to alarm you - I really didn't know and that was the first thing I would worry about if any of mine were soaking excessively.

I agree Robin... It's such an odd behavior for him though. He's slotted to bred this season too.

The check up was a PASS for healthy. He's now doing what he normally does during his sheds. Little guy had me worried for a bit, but that is in the past now. Thanks to all who posted with great ideas and / or suggestions.

    This forum rocks.

I woke up to see a complete shed when I checked on him:D. He obviously knew what he was doing, silly me for worrying huh?..lol He look's like a brand new pastel, now it's off to the freezer for a small rat-cicle for this PM. Thanks again to everyone and your input.:partyon:
