I'll add my two cents here. I would have to agree with Jotay. Examine the mouth. I used a small rubber spatula. I had my husband help, and checked the mouth thoroughly.
I had a rodent stuck halfway in the mouth for 18 hours!! I saw him eating, and then he had disappeared into his hide (he was in shed), which was completely normal. Anyway long story short, I removed the mouse and examined the mouth. No redness. No cuts. I kept a very close eye on him, and went ahead and offered food the next week. I've had no problems since. THANK GOD!! :D
If you noticed any cuts or inflammed areas, then I would go to the vet. ;)
