What a price to pay because of pure ignorance. That's tragic.

Not to be the devil's advocate here but remember sometimes it's not about pure ignorance. Sometimes it can be a reaction to an incident that did occur because of an irresponsible owner. The general public has enough problems with herps in general, snakes specifically, that even one small incident gets blown way out of proportion and these kinds of laws end up on the books.

very true, but i think its the bad owners that should feel the consequneces, not the public, just cuz there are 5 idoits that do something wrong doesnt mean to pass a law against it for the whole population regarless of whether its reptiles or lolipops or rollerskates....think about it.....how many people make dumb driving mistakes?? either drinking and driving or teens showing off ...stuff like that.....the gov doesnt take everyones right to drive away, they punish those responsible.........not sure if you understand my rambling but yea.... lol

Sorry, but I think this time it is about pure ignorance. How can any governing body justify banning all reptiles? I could see how a bad incident with a burm or retic would get them to ban all large pythons, or even at a stretch, all snakes... but all reptiles? Seems a tad overreactive no matter what may have happened in their community.
