Re: How do I move a sling?
Ok, this is all stuff I learned from an invert forum.
Tools you will need:
Your pop bottle "funnels"
Clean small paintbrushes
Stiff carboard
Forceps
You also need the spider you are planning to move and it's new home.
These are your pop bottle funnels.

Here is my chaco, in her old home.

Settle the pop bottle over your tarantula carefully, making sure you're not crushing limbs. You will probably need the paintbrush to manipulate your spider in the direction you want it to go.

Using a stiff piece of cardboard, slide it under your pop bottle, effecting trapping the spider.
Holding onto the pop bottle and the cardboard, your spider can be easily moved.

Place the spider into its new home, and remove cardboard.

You may have to unscrew the lid and use the paintbrush to keep your tarantula from walking up the sides of the bell, provided the spider cannot squeeze out of the top. Remove your pop bottle, settle the lid of the new home on, and you're done!
Re: How do I move a sling?
If you'd like to me to post shots the next time I move a sling, let me know.
Btw, that new container I moved my chaco into is a men's shoebox from The Container Store.
I throw in some peat moss, drill holes into the container, settle in a deli cup hide, and use a 2 oz food portion cup for a water dish. Easy and cheap set up.
A hide that isn't clear would probably be better, but my spiders don't seem to be bothered too much by the differece. The only spider I have that refuses to use it's deli cup hide made a burrow in the peat moss instead.
Re: How do I move a sling?
what is a sling? hehe i know i'm stupid but i'm trying to find some information on the net...
Re: How do I move a sling?
A sling is slang for a spiderling. Basically, any spider that's not an adult or hasn't reached roughly 3" or greater for "juvenile" size.
There's no definate named stages for sling or juvenile.
