Since she seems to be doing much better, we gave her a small meal yesterday - and we found her in her warm hide this morning!* Yay! Keep your fingers crossed for us that she's calmed down and is ready to be a good snakey girl...=)

*She spent most of the first week coiled up in the plants or along the glass in the corners of the cage, obviously not warm enough, hence my relief of her regularly now wanting to be warm.

Carmen is definately a mommies girl... seriously.

When we get her out, if I'm handling her she is not happy and tries to get away... but she doesn't run (slither) for freedom, cover, or nooks or crannies or crevices... nooooo she makes a beeline for Cass everytime. Sickening I tell you!

Since we've had her we've been concerned as she seemed pretty unhappy in her viv. She was lathargic, would always hide in the back corners behind the plants, wouldn't come out and ignored the hides we put in on the warm and cool sides. Also when we returned her back into her viv after handling she would try really hard to get back out as we were trying to get her in...

But since Friday she has been much more 'normal'. Using her hides, and we see her out and about climbing on her logs, on the plants. Generally doing snakey-like things, and not acting like an inmate on death-row.

So yay!

It all works out because Cleo is a Daddy's girl all the way. She tolerates me because I am the provider of mouse, but that's it...Daddy > Mommy in her little snakey eyes. ;)
