Wow that's wonderful! Congrats on those lovely eggs!
Just so I learn more about this stuff.....
Do they usually transport gravid WC females? What are the risks for both the female and the eggs? (I'm thinking possible loss of condition for the female, temp swings affecting her and her unlaid eggs, etc.)

Every year a bunch come in from Africa ... they don't exactly receive the best care in the world from the point of collection to the time that they make it into the importers hands (temps swings in the airplane cargo holds, lack of water, over crowding, etc) ... therefore, in the majority of cases, the eggs end up going bad and the females are either slow to recover or never do.
Sometimes, things work out, but that's more the exception than the rule.

Re: Big Bertha Laid Her Eggs!
Thanks Adam that's sort of what I was wondering about. I can't see the gravid females getting the kind of kid gloves care we all want to give them in captivity so obviously one would expect some higher losses of both female and eggs.
Well hopefully in this case both females and their eggs will do well.
Speaking of candling (which I must note down to research later), I remember when we candled turkey eggs we had to wait a certain number of days to see the veining clearly. Is there a specific timeline for candling snake eggs as well?

Jo, You can candle BP eggs as soon as the are layed.. I remember candling My first albino, It was like 2 weeks before she hatched I could actually see the yellow in the egg!! Great moment for me...
Good luck with those eggs!
