Diamonds are so expensive and they make hybrids because they get DPS (Diamond python syndrome) and they are extremely hard to raise in captivity and they dont usually live long, no one really knows why though.

Carpets are great though, i have a JCP and he is awesome.

I have a Diamond x Carpet and shes around 4 years old, I know some people who have diamonds x carpets that are 10+ years old. Mine is extremly easy to keep, shes eats like a horse and has never tried to bite, so how are they extremly hard to raise?

Pure diamonds are hard to raise in captivity because some of them don't live long due to dps.

ever heard the term 'hybrid vigor'??

most hybridized species (everything from mammals to herps) eat more, get larger, and may act differently than their derived species.

So is "DPS" (Diamond python syndrome) the same as " JUADS" (just up and die syndrome)?

I have a pair of IJCP's and they are pretty laid back. The male started out as a little nippy until he realized he was going to be handled anyway, and 'I wasn't going to eat him".

I've never had any problems with either one of them.
