Re: Buisness names? ideas?
Andre,
I think it's great that you have such high ambitions for yourself at such a young age. Don't let anyone deter you from following your dreams and goals. It's great that your mom is willing to support your endeavor. We could all be so lucky to have parents that are so willing to deal with these kinds of things.
The research and thought you have put into acquiring your animals and putting together a business is great. I wish schools still taught entrepreneurial skills, but sadly, not many people are into working for themselves anymore.
Anyway, kudos to you, man! Don't let your physical age hold back what your mental capabilities are!

I agree that you should set goals, and work to achieve them. Having said that you need to be sure you are upfront with people about yourself and your situation.
I do not think Anacondas are snakes for the average keeper. You are still young, and have a lot coming your way. (college, apartments, jobs) I would hate to see you get over your head, but at the same time not to try. Baby steps. ;)

Re: Buisness names? ideas?
When I was about 12 I told my parents I wanted to be a computer programmer. They thought it was a bad idea, and I was too young to know better.
20 years later they eat crow, and my dad begs me to stay in that industry despite my desire to go back to driving truck.
Do what you love, but do it better than anyone else.

Re: Buisness names? ideas?
That's a bit different. If you decided to go back to driving a truck, you can leave the computer all by itself. When working with animals, you need to be sure that you can care for them their entire lifetime. In addition, when working with such large animals you need to have multiple people responsible for them since they often require more than one person to safetly handle them. It's just not a decision that should be made lightly.

Be the best implies:
Do the research.
Get it right.
Find a mentor.
Bounce ideas off other people and keep your mind open.
Find out what the successful people do and duplicate that.
Find out what their headaches are and improve on that.
Evaluate your methods on an ongoing basis and improve on those.
I could go on, but "be the best" includes not taking the venture irresponsibly.
Now personally, if you asked me I would say boa's were a bad idea, but I also laughed when a friend told me he was going to start a business that bought used furniture, repaired it and then sold it again. He recently sold it for Millions and millons of dollars, and leases the land (which he paid cash for) to the new owners. If anyone's heard of United Furniture Warehouse, that's the guy. Now he spends his money helping homeless people get back on their feet all over North America... but I digress.
So yeah.. don't raise boa's unless you have what it takes.

Re: Buisness names? ideas?
Not to disuade any young person with a dream but being a minor Andre you need to be aware of the legalities of running a business under another person's name and that your potential customers are aware they are entering into any kind of contract with you being a minor. Good business practise is part of snake breeding or it aught to be.
As far as whether you are ready again consider your age and the fact that as far as I'm aware you do not have adults that have a lot of snake experience (especially larger snakes) there to back you 24/7.
Rather than rushing into the business aspects of this why not just enjoy the snakes you have. Develop and define your passion for them as I truly believe without a true passion for the snakes it becomes a sad business that truly does not do either the person or the snakes any long term good. Take some business type courses at school in the meantime....they will stand you in good stead no matter what you do in life.
For me it's about the heart and the head. My heart loves the snakes and wants more and sometimes to rush things, my head defines what I can do logically and in a responsible timely manner and puts the brakes sometimes on my heart. I believe to be successful as a breeder/seller one day I will need to find a good balance of both aspects.
Just please don't rush Andre. Life is long, snakes are a major committment and there is no timetable to go by, no race to be run and won.

Re: Buisness names? ideas?
Many, many, many, many, many, moons ago, when I was a young boy growing up in the lovely urban paradise of northern New Jersey, one very hot summer I decide to open an ice cream "store" on the corner in my neighborhood.
I took a tub of Pathmark (local grocery store) brand ice cream from my mothers freezer, some paper plates from the cabinet, spoons, napkins, etc. I also grabbed my "piggy bank" and brought it along in case I needed to make change.
I dragged an old folding card table from the basement out to the corner, put up a sign, and opened up shop.
After about 15 minutes I had not one customer and I decided to go ride my bike with my friends instead.
Later that night I got my a$$ beat for leaving the ice cream outside to melt.
But ya know what? I remember the fun I had that day more than I do the beating ... I think that when you're a kid, that's all that really matters. ;)
ROCK ON Andre!

Re: Buisness names? ideas?
I once read about this 13 year old kid that had high hopes and dreams.. His parents weren't as supportive, and he rebeled against them still doing what would get him closer to his dreams in his spare time.
He eventually went on to graduate high school, and went to Harvard. Some time in the middle of his Junior year at Harvard, he decided... you know.. this high level education isn't for me. So what my parents are spending tons of money to send me here... I'm gonna drop out and try to make a go of this in my garage.
A couple of years later, him and Steve Balmer and Paul Allen released DOS.
I think this kid that didn't think Harvard was such a good idea is now fairly well off, and pretty highly respected.
I get the fact that at any point, he could have given up, and his computers wouldn't have starved... his garage would have been just fine... and Paul Allen probably would have started Apple anyway, and taken over the world... I also get that he had to exibit absolutely no responsibility to start programming computers when he was 13, and actually start a business on the pipe dream that there would soon be a computer on everyone's desk top. (Or in their lap)
I wholeheartedly agree with the "be a kid while you can" thing. (no sarcasm this time, I swear :) ) But you can't fight ambition.... and if this "kid's" mom/parent(s) are willing to support him in whatever endeavors he encounters, then he'll be far better off than a parent that would stiffle him, and not embrace the ambition and drive that few children carry these days.
All children are different. There are some that get SUPER involved in something one day, and the next, they could care less. It would seem to me that Andre's mom is the one that probably knows him best... and if he were the sort to give up this new love all of a sudden, then I'm sure she wouldn't support him in it as much as she does.
