Genetics are simply fascinating Josh. Have a good look at Adam's site for some stunning snakes, as well as the Ralph Davis site Christie provided you with. A couple more since we are into this.

NERD (New England Reptile Distributors) has an amazing site...snakes to drool over....and one of the absolute best explanations of the genetics involved in recessives, co-dominants, dominants (let alone double and triple recessives which just give me a massive headache trying to get my brain around LOL). Kara from NERD is a wonderful contributor to this forum.

As well I've also given you a site from Canada. Markus Jayne has a very nice simple explanation of genetics as well as breeding, etc. with clear photos of everything.

Hope these are helpful. Have fun and bring along a pad and pencil. You'll be jotting down your own punnett squares in no time LOL!

Thanks Jo for the info and also everyone else. In due time I will get the hang of this and hopefully be able to get started with a breeding program in a couple of years after things settle down. This is so facinating. I;m sorry for not getting into this sooner.

Is my mind playing tricks on me or does it really say "9ballpyhons" on the border of Adam's top photo?

It does look like that, but I think it's how the picture came out. I'm pretty sure Adam hasn't changed the name or started a "hidden" business! ;)

By the way Adam, love seeing those pictures! It inspires those of us who want to follow in your foot prints!

As always, very nice examples provided by Mr. Adam. Thanks for your time and contributions sir. I appreciate and take into consideration your comments (even though most of the time it's IMHO) LOL....:P Keep posting those nice pics.... (now where's my pied????):D

Maybe I'm just wierd (yes okay I am wierd but that's besides the point okay! :P ) but I really prefer the Lesser Platty over Ralph's Platty Daddy. Not that the Platty Dadding isn't a stunning snake but something about the Lesser just makes my heart go pitty pat. Maybe someday I'll actually get to see one in person!

Could it be that the Platty hidden gene is the hypo gene?
